This month we sit down with Cara Matthews, who provided a glimpse into her life and her role at Rural Lifestyle Options Australia as one of our Team Leaders.
What are you responsible for? Among many things - my main responsibilities include overseeing three of our Supported Independent Living arrangements based in Logan. I provide ongoing training and support to our amazing Lifestyle Support Workers and ensure the day to day running of the SILS is to a high standard. What do you consider to be your strengths? I believe my strengths are in being extremely organised and finding solutions to problems. I like to build communication with honesty within my teams and have a positive attitude whilst finding ways to overcome barriers. What is an unknown fact about you? I have a phobia of finding hair in food (Chaetophobia) ... gross. What drives you nuts? Laziness. What are your interests? Spending time with my son, road trips to new spots, camping with family and friends and creating memories.
What is your favourite food?
Teppanyaki hands down.
What was the last song you listened to?
Ain’t No Sunshine - Bill Withers
What was the last TV show you binge watched?
I have just finished Lucifer and have now started Arrow.
What is your favourite work tip? Create daily goals and don’t leave things until the last minute. How do you like to receive feedback? Straight up - to my face. I don’t take things personally and appreciate all feedback good and bad.
