How great does one of our star Lifestyle Support Workers, Tammy, and her two daughters look in our new Reconciliation Polos? 🤩

These shirts embody some of the artwork developed as part of the story ‘Saltwater Freshwater Connection’ by First Nation Artist Nathan Falk for our ‘Innovate’ RAP and are a way for members of the Rural Lifestyle Options Australia community to show their support for progressing reconciliation within Australia.

This NAIDOC week choose to ‘Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!’ and be part of the change. 🖤💛❤️

This week, Rural Lifestyle Options Australia are celebrating all things NAIDOC.

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This week marks an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

This year’s theme ‘Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!’ is a rallying cry for systemic change for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Momentum is gathering on key issues to increase First Nations peoples’ rights, opportunities and access.

There is growing awareness of the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander self-determination and the primacy of First Nations cultures to our national story.

Now more than ever, we need to keep focused, keep engaged, and keep showing up.

Choose to be part of the change. 🖤💛❤️

A big thank you to everyone who attended our ‘Be Brave. Make Change’ Virtual Afternoon Tea today in recognition of National Reconciliation Week.

This year, Rural Lifestyle Options Australia were joined by special guest Amy Lee Farr, a proud Aboriginal woman from the Kunja (Gunya) tribe.

Amy spoke about the struggles she had faced growing up and touched on the pain and suffering caused to her ancestors by the traumas of the past.

Her story served as a reminder to us all that we can always do more to acknowledge our shared histories, cultures, and achievements if we want to truly achieve reconciliation in Australia.

It all starts with you, the reader, being brave and deciding to make a change. 🖤💛❤️
