And the latest recipient of the prestigious Above and Beyond Award is…

Celena Bolton!

Today, Celena was presented with an Above and Beyond Award by Michelle Latailakepa, Chief Executive Officer.

Celena was nominated for her teamwork, performance excellence, infectious positive attitude, commitment, flexibility and leadership.

Earlier this year, Celena stepped up into the position of Service Manager and has ensured high quality service continuity for not only her team of Team Leaders and Lifestyle Support Workers but also for families and participants ever since. She constantly asks questions, visits our SIL arrangements on a weekly basis, is a master problem solver and takes ownership in everything she does. She is a strong advocate for quality services and ensures all of her team instils the same values.

This has been recognised as extending Rural Lifestyle Options Australia’s mission of “Supporting a life of choice”.

Traditionally, finger pointing is used to cast blame or to assign the blame for something to someone else.

But not today.

Today we are pointing the finger at the latest recipient of our Above and Beyond Award, Melinda Jones!

Recently, Melinda was presented with an Above and Beyond Award by Michelle Latailakepa, Chief Executive Officer for her teamwork, leadership, flexibility, commitment, creativity and innovation.

Melinda was nominated for being a change champion for Rural Lifestyle Options Australia and for taking on the challenge to improve roster efficiencies and staff deployment within the rostering team.

Many staff have already noticed the positive changes through her leadership and commitment to better matching for participants. This has been recognised as extending Rural Lifestyle Options Australia’s mission of “Supporting a life of choice”.

At Rural Lifestyle Options Australia we like to celebrate the contribution of staff who have been with us on this journey for a long period of time. Previously, we acknowledged 5, 10, 15 and 20 year milestones but back in July 2020 we made the decision to also acknowledge 17.5 years too.

Since the introduction of this new award, our first staff member to reach this milestone is Sheryl Colton, who was recently presented with her 17.5 Years of Service Award by Michelle Latailakepa, Chief Executive Officer and Ann Armstrong, Vice Chair (Board of Directors).

In recognition of Sheryl’s dedication and loyalty to the organisation, Sheryl received an award acknowledging this milestone, a personalised letter from the CEO and a $175 RLOA Gift Card which can be used at a variety of major retailers.

Please join us in congratulating Sheryl!
