From 1.00am Thursday, 20 August 2020, the following changes to Queensland’s border restrictions came into effect under Border Restrictions Direction (No. 12):

The direction includes information on essential healthcare exemptions that will enable people to enter Queensland for essential healthcare from a COVID-19 hotspot. These exemptions include services provided by health practitioners under an agreed NDIS Plan. Please note that evidence must be provided at the border of the essential healthcare arrangements in place. A form has been developed and is available on the Queensland Health website.

There are also changes to the areas included in the border zone.

Further information about the Queensland border restrictions, including questions and answers, can be found on the Queensland Health website. If you are seeking clarification on a Public Health Direction or have any questions, please call 134 COVID (134 268).

NDIS Data on Infection Rates:

Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme, Stuart Robert, has announced the Commonwealth will commence providing data on infection rates of COVID-19 for NDIS participants and workers.

The reporting will ensure accurate and timely information is being provided to the community. The data is collated through reporting mechanisms of the NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission and compiled by the Commonwealth’s NDIS Critical Response Group.

Further information is available on the NDIS website.
